BEST TIME TO GO
The best time to visit Mikumi National Park is during the dry season, from late June to October. The vegetation is thinner at this time and animals gather around the waterholes. The end of the dry season (September and October) is also rewarding as big herds come to drink water.

ABOUT MIKUMI
Situated near Morogoro, Tanzania, the Mikumi National Park was established in 1964 and it covers an area of 3,230 km sq. It borders Selous Game Reserve to the south and the two other areas bordering the national park are the Udzungwa Mountains and the Uluguru Mountains. Within the park is the Malunde Mountain which is the highest of a belt of hills that run east and west through the parks, connecting the Uvidunda and Udzungwa Mountains to the west and the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast.
With a landscape of black hardwood trees, baobabs, and grassy plains, Mikumi National Park is the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Mikumi National Park is home to wildebeest, zebra, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, and endangered wild dogs. Within a short period of entering the park, chances are high that you would spot a respectable sample of wildlife.
